Storyfied is a global online platform and community that promotes and shares the inspiring stories of startup businesses and the entrepreneurs who have created them. By subscribing to our PR & Marketing platform, you will be able to produce and publish your startup story. In return, depending on your level of subscription, we will feature your story on our website at www.storyfield.com (the “Website”), promote it across our social platforms and networks and give you access to our online community forum to engage with fellow entrepreneurs in order to help you build your brand and brand awareness.

This agreement applies as between you (the subscriber or website visitor) and Storyfield Ltd (the owner of this Website). Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully and ensure that you understand them. You will be required to read and accept these Terms and Conditions when signing up to create a profile in order to publish your startup story. If you do not agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, you should stop using the Website and the Service immediately.

1.Definitions and Interpretation

In this Agreement the following terms shall have the following meanings:


means any text, graphics, images, audio, video, software, data compilations and any other form of information capable of being stored in a computer that appears on or
forms part of this Website;


means our community discussion forum hosted on the Website, with newsfeed and direct messaging capability;

“Listed Business”

means any business which features in a Startup Story;

“Listing Fee”

means the fee payable to post a Startup Story, as more fully described in Clause 7.4;


means a post in the Forum (and includes any and all content in such posts);


means collectively the information submitted by a Subscriber to create a Startup Story, including without limitation personal/identifying information, payment information and details of that Subscriber’s startup business;


means collectively any online facilities, tools, services or information that Storyfield Ltd makes available through the Website either now or in the future;

“Startup Story”

means a business biography, founder interview and/or any news, events or jobs posted on the Website by a Subscriber, which provide details of that Subscriber’s startup business;

“Storyfield Ltd”

means the owner and operator of this website, Storyfield Ltd, a limited company registered in England under number 10341285, whose registered address is 44 Maiden Lane, 4th Floor, London, England, WC2E 7LN;


means the representative of any startup company that accesses the Website and subscribes to the Service;


means any online communications infrastructure that Storyfield Ltd makes available through the Website either now or in the future, including without limitation email addresses and online forums; and


means any non-subscribing guest users who access the Website; and


means the website that you are currently using (www.storyfield.com) and any sub-domains of this site unless expressly excluded by their own terms and conditions.

2.Intellectual Property

2.1 Subject to the exceptions in Clause 3 of these Terms and Conditions, all Content included on the Website, unless contained in Startup Stories or Posts, including, but not limited to, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, sound clips, video clips, data compilations, page layout, underlying code and software is the property of Storyfield Ltd, or our affiliates. By continuing to use the Website you acknowledge that such material is protected by applicable United Kingdom and International intellectual property and other laws.

2.2 You may print, reproduce, copy, distribute, store or in any other fashion re-use Content from the Website as specified in Clause 4 of these Terms and Conditions and for personal or educational purposes only, unless otherwise indicated on the Website or unless given express written permission to do so by Storyfield Ltd. Specifically you agree that:

2.2.1 You will not systematically copy Content from the Website with a view to creating or compiling any form of comprehensive collection, compilation, directory or database unless given express written permission to do so by Storyfield Ltd.

3.Third Party Intellectual Property

3.1 The intellectual property rights subsisting in the Content of Startup Stories and Posts belong to the Listed Businesses to which those Startup Stories and Posts pertain unless it is expressly stated otherwise.

3.2 Where expressly indicated, certain Content and the intellectual property rights subsisting therein belongs to other parties.

3.3 The Content described in this Clause 3, unless expressly stated to be so, is not covered by any permission granted by Clause 2 of these Terms and Conditions to use Content from the Website. The exceptions in Clause 4 continue to apply.

4.Fair Use of Intellectual Property

Material from the Website may be re-used without written permission where any of the exceptions detailed in Chapter III of the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 apply, covering in particular the making of temporary copies; the making of personal copies for private use; research and private study; the making of copies for text and data analysis for non-commercial research; criticism, review, quotation and news reporting; caricature, parody or pastiche; and the incidental inclusion of copyright material.

5.Links to Other Websites

5.1 The inclusion of a link to another site or the featuring of a Startup Story on this Website does not imply any endorsement of the sites or Listed Businesses, those in control of them, or the products or services they offer. Storyfield Ltd merely offers a promotional platform to facilitate the advertisement of Listed Businesses and assumes no responsibility for the content of any linked websites, Posts or Startup Stories and disclaims liability for any and all forms of loss or damage arising out of the use of them.

5.2 Subscribers wishing to place a link to this Website on a website they own may do so, provided they do not authorise or permit non-Subscribers to do the same without prior permission from Storyfield Ltd.

6.Listing on the Website

6.1 Only startup companies who are registered with Companies House or its international equivalent, actively and genuinely trading, and were founded less than 5 years ago, and are not franchises or solely involved in the business of providing marketing network services, are permitted to appear as a Listed Business on the Website. By subscribing to the Service and posting a Startup Story, you represent and warrant that this is the case.

6.2 Subscribers are responsible for creating and uploading their own Startup Story on the Website, following the prompts provided in our content creation template. When submitting a Startup Story to the Website, or submitting a Post to our Forum, you should do so in accordance with the following rules:

6.2.1 you must not use obscene or vulgar language;
6.2.2 it must not contain Content that is unlawful or otherwise objectionable (including that which may be in breach of rules, regulations or legislation specific to your business or industry). This includes, but is not limited to, Content that is abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, ageist, sexist or racist;
6.2.3 it should be honest and fair, should not make any unsubstantiated, misleading or unsupportable claims, and should not make dishonest or unreasonable comparisons with other businesses;
6.2.4 it must not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party including, but not limited to, copyright and trade marks, or impersonate other people or businesses;
6.2.5 any images included must be of a high quality and may only feature products or founders of the Listed Business to which it relates;
6.2.6 any logo included may only be uploaded to the area designated for such purpose in the template provided for content creation;
6.2.7 any video posted must be directly relevant to the Listed Business to which it relates and must comply with the content standards set out in this Clause 6.2;
6.2.8 you must not post links to other websites containing any of the above types of Content;
6.2.9 you must not submit material that may contain viruses or any other software or instructions that may damage or disrupt other software, computer hardware or communications networks; and
6.2.10 you must not use our System for unauthorised mass-communication such as “spam” or “junk mail”.

6.3 You acknowledge that you are responsible for approving your Startup Story before it is posted and that it cannot be modified once it has been published.

6.4 Storyfield Ltd reserves the right, but shall not be obliged, to screen, approve (or reject), edit and/or remove any Startup Story or Post submitted to the Website where its content, in our sole opinion, violates our content standards, or if we receive a complaint from a third party and determine that the Content in question should be removed as a result.

6.5 Storyfield Ltd additionally reserves the right (but has no obligation) to feature Listed Businesses in its weekly newsletter, at its sole discretion.

6.6 Storyfield Ltd may edit your Startup Story to comply with the provisions of sub-Clause 6.2 without prior consultation. In cases of severe breaches of the provisions of sub-Clause 6.2, your Startup Story may be removed and your account may be suspended or terminated.

6.7 In order to submit a Startup Story, you are required to submit certain personal and/or business details. By continuing to use this Website you represent and warrant that:

6.7.1 any information you submit is accurate and truthful; and
6.7.2 you will keep this information accurate and up-to-date.

6.8 By submitting a Startup Story on the Website or by submitting a Post to our Forum, you warrant and represent that you are the author of the Content contained therein or that you have acquired all of the appropriate rights and / or permissions to submit it. Storyfield Ltd accepts no responsibility or liability for any infringement of third party rights by such Startup Stories or Content. Further, you waive all moral rights in the listing to be named as its author and grant Storyfield Ltd a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to reproduce, distribute, re-format, store and publicly display the Content as necessary for its inclusion on the Website or Forum.

6.9 Storyfield Ltd will not be liable in any way or under any circumstances for any loss or damage that you may incur as a result of Startup Stories or Posts, nor for any errors or omissions therein. Use of and reliance upon any Content posted on the Website is entirely at your own risk.

6.10 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall grant Storyfield Ltd any rights in or to any trade marks or any other intellectual property rights contained within any part of the Content you post save for the right to display and modify the same as necessary for its inclusion on the Website as part of your Startup Story until you or Storyfield Ltd choose to remove it.

7.Profile and Listing Fees

7.1 In order to subscribe to the Service, receive our free newsletter and/or and post a Startup Story on this Website, you must create a Profile which will contain certain personal and business details, including but not limited to your business/trading name, industry, founders, date of incorporation, address, website and payment information. By creating a Profile you represent and warrant that:

7.1.1 all information you submit is accurate and truthful; and
7.1.2 you will keep this information accurate and up-to-date.

7.2 Sharing of accounts is not permitted and you must keep your Profile details confidential and should not reveal your username or password to any unauthorised third parties.

7.3 With the exception of Subscribers who solely wish to subscribe to our free weekly newsletter, in consideration for access to our Forum and the ability to publish your startup Story on the Website (and, depending on the level of subscription, promote the same) for one year, a Listing Fee (as defined in sub-Clause 7.4) will be charged. The credit / debit card information you provide as part of your Profile will be billed at the time at which your listing goes live and an email will be sent to Subscribers to remind them of our automatic renewal on an annual basis while your Startup Story remains active, unless terminated by you on 30 days’ written notice.

7.4 The subscription and upgrade models we offer and the associated Listing Fee required for each are as follows:

7.4.1 Biography Member: £9.99

●Allows the Subscriber to publish: a business biography of up to 150 words; 1 lifestyle image; 1 logo; and 1 website link.
●Content is featured and will rotate on the Website’s homepage for 30 days, following which it will be archived in our startups library.
●Subscriber receives weekly newsletter and has access to our Forum.

7.4.2 Interview Member: £24.99 (or £15.00 in the event that a Subscriber upgrades from Biography Membership to Interview Membership)

●Allows the Subscriber to publish: a full founder interview of up to 1,000 words; 4 lifestyle images; 1 logo; 1 website link; and 1 video link.
●Content is featured and will rotate on the Website’s homepage for 30 days, following which it will be archived in our startups library.
●Content is additionally promoted via our weekly newsletter and is publicised in one post via each of our social media platforms as close to the publication of the Content as Storyfield can schedule (including Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, Pinterest, LinkedIn and FaceBook).
●Subscriber receives weekly newsletter and has access to our Forum.

7.4.3 Optional Add-On Upgrade: £9.99

●Allows the Subscriber to link to any relevant news, events or job opportunities during their subscription period.
●Any link shared will feature in the newsfeed on the homepage.
●The news, event or job opportunity shared may additionally be included in an edition of our weekly newsletter, at Storyfield Ltd’s sole discretion.

7.5 Storyfield Ltd reserves the right to change Listing Fees from time to time. Changes in price will not affect any Listing Fee already paid but will be reflected in any renewed Listing Fees, unless your subscription is termination in accordance with Clause 7.3.

7.6 If you terminate your account, your Startup Story will be removed immediately and you will not be rebilled for the cancelled listing.

8.Termination and/or Suspension

8.1 In the event that you materially breach any of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions, we may take one or more of the following actions:

8.1.1 Suspend, whether temporarily or permanently, your account and/or your right to access the Website;
8.1.2 Remove any Post, Startup Story or other Content submitted by you that violate(s) these terms;
8.1.3 Issue you with a written warning;
8.1.4 Take legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of any and all relevant costs on an indemnity basis resulting from your breach;
8.1.5 Take further legal action against you as appropriate;
8.1.6 Disclose such information to law enforcement authorities as required or as we deem reasonably necessary; and/or
8.1.7 Any other actions that we deem reasonably appropriate (and lawful).

8.2 We hereby exclude any and all liability arising out of any actions (including, but not limited to those set out above) that we may take in response to breaches of these Terms and Conditions.

8.3 If Storyfield Ltd takes any of the above actions as a result of your breach of these Terms and Conditions, or if you terminate your account for any reason, you will not be entitled to any refund.


9.1 Use of the Website is also governed by our Privacy Policy which is incorporated into these terms and conditions by this reference. To view the Privacy Policy, please click on the link above.

9.2 The Website places cookies onto your computer or device to collect and sort information about Subscribers’ and Users’ usage on the Website. Full details of the cookies used by the Website and your legal rights with respect to them are included in our Cookie Policy – By accepting these terms and conditions, you are giving consent to Storyify Ltd to place cookies on your computer or device.


10.1 Storyfield Ltd makes no warranty or representation that the Website will meet your requirements, that it will not infringe the rights of third parties, that it will be compatible with all systems, or that it will be secure.

10.2 Storyfield Ltd has neither control over, nor involvement in, any Listed Business and accepts no responsibility for any actions taken, or any goods or services provided, by any Listed Business.

10.3 Whilst every reasonable endeavour has been made to ensure that all information provided on this Website will be accurate and up to date, Storyfield Ltd makes no warranty or representation that this is the case. We make no guarantee of any specific results from the use of our services.

10.4 No part of this Website is intended to constitute advice and the Content of this Website should not be relied upon when making any decisions or taking any action of any kind.

10.5 Storyfield Ltd makes no representation or warranty that any part of this Website is suitable for use in commercial situations or that it constitutes accurate data and / or advice on which business decisions can be based.

10.6 Whilst Storyfield Ltd exercises all reasonable skill and care to ensure that the Website is secure and free of errors, viruses and other malware, all Subscribers are advised to take responsibility for their own security, that of their personal details and their computers.

11.Availability of the Website and Modifications

11.1 Storyfield Ltd accepts no liability for any disruption or non-availability of the Website resulting from external causes including, but not limited to, ISP equipment failure, host equipment failure, communications network failure, power failure, natural events, acts of war or legal restrictions and censorship.

11.2 Storyfield Ltd reserves the right to alter, suspend or discontinue any part (or the whole of) the Website including, but not limited to, the services available. These Terms and Conditions shall continue to apply to any modified version of the Website unless it is expressly stated otherwise.

12.Limitation of Liability

12.1 To the fullest extent permissible by law, we accept no liability to any Subscriber or User for any loss or damage, whether foreseeable or otherwise, in contract, tort (including negligence), for breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with the use of (or inability to use) the Website or the use of or reliance upon any content included on the Website.

12.2 To the fullest extent permissible by law, Storyfield Ltd excludes all representations, warranties, and guarantees (whether express or implied) that may apply to the Website or any content included on it.

12.3 Storyfield accepts no liability for loss of profits, sales, business or revenue; loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation; loss of anticipated savings; business interruption; or for any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

12.4 Storyfield Ltd exercises all reasonable skill and care to ensure that the Website is free from viruses and other malware. We accept no liability for any loss or damage resulting from a virus or other malware, a distributed denial of service attack, or other harmful material or event that may adversely affect the Subscriber’s or User’s hardware, software, data or other material that occurs as a result of the Subscriber’s or User’s use of the Website (including the downloading of any content from it) or any other site or Listed Business referred to on the Website.

12.5 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts our liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for death or personal injury resulting from negligence, or for any other forms of liability which cannot be excluded or restricted by law.

12.6 In the event that any of these terms are found to be unlawful, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, that term is to be deemed severed from these Terms and Conditions and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining Terms and Conditions. This term shall apply only within jurisdictions where a particular term is illegal.

13.No Waiver

In the event that any party to these Terms and Conditions fails to exercise any right or remedy contained herein, this shall not be construed as a waiver of that right or remedy.

14.Previous Terms and Conditions

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and any prior versions thereof, the provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall prevail unless it is expressly stated otherwise.

15.Third Party Rights

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall confer any rights upon any third party. The agreement created by these Terms and Conditions is between you and Storyfield Ltd.


16.1 All notices / communications shall be given to us either by post to Storyfied, 44 Maiden Lane, 4th Floor, London, WC2E 7LN or by email to [email protected] Such notice will be deemed received 3 days after posting if sent by first class post, the day of sending if the email is received in full on a business day and on the next business day if the email is sent on a weekend or public holiday.

16.2 Storyfield Ltd may from time to time send you information about our products and/or services. If you do not wish to receive such information, please click on the unsubscribe link in any email you receive from us.

17.Law and Jurisdiction

17.1 These Terms and Conditions, and the relationship between the Subscriber/User and Storyfield Ltd (whether contractual or otherwise) shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, English law.

17.2 Any disputes concerning these Terms and Conditions, the relationship between the Subscriber/User and Storyfield Ltd, or any matters arising therefrom or associated herewith (whether contractual or otherwise) shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
