Tell us your business story to date...
Lewis Parsons (@lewypee) is a London-based video creator and photographer specialising in social media content. His work reflects his personality - playful, creative and irreverent.
He cares most about food, travel and adventure.
He doesn't normally refer to himself in the third person and probably won't be doing it again.
What can we look forward to seeing from you?
The majority of my time is currently spent producing video content for brands and their social media channels. But when I'm not in that zone, I'm planning ideas for personal projects and interesting content within food & drink and travel. I have a few exciting things lined up this year, I can't say too much at this stage but if you follow my instagram (@lewypee), you'll soon find out.
What has been your biggest lesson from your startup journey...
There is no substitute for 'doing'. It's probably a cliché and has been said over and over, but ideas are nothing without execution. I spent a long time planning and strategising in my first business, and I wasted a lot of time and never really got moving. It wasn't until I started just doing, taking action and executing that things started to really take shape. Of course there needs to be an element of strategy in what you're doing, but don't overthink it, just do it. Test, learn.
What tips or advice can you share for marketing your startup business?
Of course I'm going to say make more video...! But I believe in authentic video content so much, that I've shifted my entire career and direction to master a craft I previously knew not much about. Communication is only going to shift more towards video, but it needs to be authentic video - flaws and all. If tackled in the right way, video content can make a marketing campaign really powerful.
Is there anything you can offer to help other startup businesses?
One of my personal projects (and by all accounts, where this business started) is a short online docu-series called 'Start-Up Sessions'. When I have time, I'm always looking for interesting start-up businesses to get involved - essentially, I produce a brand story video.
Is there any help that are you looking for?
Always open to collaborations and helping out with my skills in video production and photography where I can!
